TTEC615 Human-Computer Interaction

This unit analyses the elements of human computer interaction and their impact on the design and implementation of visualised data for taxation operations. It reviews the design processes and principles of human computer interaction as well as the perception, cognitive ability and forms of that interaction. The unit interprets usability goals and identifies suitable visual thinking approaches including collecting user preferences and prototyping. It also examines cognitive load theory and the rationale for use of human computer interactive technologies in taxation operations. It assesses the role of heuristics and memory and problem solving applications in the design process. The ethical implications of designing visualised taxation operations are also assessed. Solutions to common cultural and communication challenges within data visualisation applications are evaluated as well as the design of electronic prototypes. The global and cultural perspectives of human computer interaction are identified and linked with social computing and collaborative frameworks. Tableau applications and visualisation of taxation data using collaborative frameworks is evaluated and compliance issues are examined. The unit also covers the changing role of taxation professionals in the age of data.
