Unit Overview:

This unit provides students with basic theoretical foundations for designing methodologically coherent and ethically sound social and business research and equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to design applied academic and commercial research projects. Special attention is given to the application of scientific and social research methods to substantive research problems and issues. The unit provides a balanced introduction to research design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches to social research and an appreciation of the potential benefits of combining several approaches./p>
