The positives and challenges of using blockchain in accounting and the use of decentralised processing networks are assessed and debated. The unit also introduces the concept of collaboration in accounting functions across departments and identifies the possible cultural shift required in transitioning from centralised accounting to blockchain accounting in the coming years.
