All you need to know about our new brand - FAQs

Why have we introduced a new brand and what is the aim?

Introducing a new brand for the business school is an important part of a larger strategy to redirect the business school in a way that aligns with future models of education that incorporate innovation and new technologies into learning and teaching. It is important to us that our business school brand and positioning stay relevant and appeal to both international and domestic student communities.

What will happen to Top Education Institute?

Top Education Institute will continue to operate and house the School of Law. All information relevant to the Sydney City School of Business will be transferred/re-branded to IMC.

What changes will occur?

There will be many changes that will occur from now until March 2020. IMC will have its own logo and colour palette and a new website: www.imc.edu.au separate to Top Education Institute. Students will notice changes in institute documents and publications such as: offer letters, completion letters, application forms, student policies, course material, transcripts and testamurs. These items will now be branded with a new name, logo and style. All relevant information and content will remain unchanged during the transition period. Information that may refer to Top Education Institute is still valid.

When will the new brand be live and completely rolled out?

The new brand is expected to be rolled out completely by 1st March 2020. Until then, TOP’s Sydney City School of Business will be undergoing a brand transition period.

How will this affect current students?

Students that are enrolled in the Sydney City School of Business will experience this new name and new formats in their completion letter, transcript and testamur. These documents will state that IMC is previously known as Top Education Institute and continue to be accredited and recognised by relevant education and professional bodies. Students will also notice branding changes in the student portal, Moodle, learning materials and campus signage.

Is there a rationale behind the new logo and brand style?

Our logo aims to project a youthful and playful approach to modern education. The clean typeface and fresh, vibrant colours takes a modern stance to business education that appeals to both international and domestic student markets. The letters ‘IMC’ in our logo, is an abstract representation of a series of pathways and journeys that build to create a solid foundation - much like the pathways of education in creating a solid foundation for a future career. The use of the colour blue is representative of the digital movement and technology with a sense of calmness and optimism. The gradient used between the colours blue and aqua, creates a sense of transformation and depth.

Is there a new tagline?

Yes, our new tagline/motto is: Innovation Towards Intelligent Education. Our motto represents our direction towards investing in innovative learning technologies that encourage technology aided learning and education.

Is the new name recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education JSJ List?

Yes, Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC) is recognised by China’s Ministry of Education as one of only 42 Australian universities or higher education institutions on the Jiaoyu Shewai Jianguan Xinxi Wang (JSJ) list – a trusted source of information for Chinese students when choosing where to study.

Will courses continue to be recognised by relevant accrediting bodies?

All our courses continue to be recognised by TEQSA, the government regulator for higher education in Australia. Relevant business and accounting courses are accredited and recognised by CPA, CAANZ and CMA and will not be affected by the rebrand. We are also expecting recognition in the coming months from IPA and ACCA.

Will there be a new website?

Yes, IMC will have its own website: www.imc.edu.au that will be launched before March 2020. After March 2020, there will still be progressive updates to the IMC website to ensure all content accurately reflects the institute. The IMC website will be distinctly different to the existing TOP website and be branded with its own logo and colour palette.
The Top Education Institute website: top.staging.elcomcms.com will still continue to exist as our online presence for TOP’s School of Law.
