On 24 June 2026, IMC’s senior leadership travelled to EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Germany for an afternoon of academic exchange, marking a significant step in strengthening connections between higher education institutions across Australia and Europe.
The visit was led by Dr Cathy Xu, CEO of IMC, together with the IMC delegation. The purpose of the visit was to tour the EBS campus, engage in academic exchange, and explore potential collaboration models between the two institutions.
From the EBS side, the delegation was welcomed by:
- Professor Emanuel V. Towfigh, Vice Dean of EBS Law School
- David Windsor, Associate Dean, International Affairs
- Daniel Kusebauch, Director of Corporate Relations
- Professor Raša Karapandža, PhD, Dean of EBS Business School

A Day of Exchange and Insight
The visit began with a tour of the EBS campus, giving the IMC delegation a firsthand look at the university’s facilities and learning environment. This was followed by an in-depth discussion in which EBS introduced its institutional background and shared insights into the non-profit nature of universities and higher education institutions in Germany, offering valuable context on how the German higher education system operates.
The conversation then turned to the future, with both sides exploring how IMC and EBS Universität might work together in practical and sustainable ways.

Exploring Collaboration Opportunities
Discussions centred on several possible avenues for collaboration, including:
- Executive education and MBA-style programs designed for senior executives and CEOs
- Visiting professors from EBS Universität delivering courses at IMC
- Joint program or cohort-based delivery models between the two institutions
Together, these ideas reflect a shared interest in academic exchange, executive education, international partnerships, and cross-border teaching opportunities, laying the foundation for a partnership that benefits students, faculty, and industry alike.

Looking Ahead
The visit to EBS Universität represents an important milestone in IMC’s commitment to global academic engagement. As IMC continues to build its international outlook, exchanges such as this create meaningful opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between Australian and European higher education communities.
IMC extends its thanks to Dr Emanuel V. Towfigh, David Windsor, Daniel Kusebauch, and Professor Raša Karapandža for their generous hospitality and engaging discussions. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring potential opportunities for future collaboration.
