Katherine Lindsay is an award-winning law teacher with over twenty-five years of experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Queensland, Newcastle Law School and the Australian National University. Her research interests encompass Australian federal constitutional law and legal biography. She has researched and published in the discipline of law and in higher education as a member of the Peer-Assisted Teaching Scheme national research team under the leadership of Professor Angela Carbone.

Jahan Kalantar

Lecturer

Jahan teacher Criminal Law and Procedure and Evidence Law at the School of Law of IMC. He is a Sydney-based solicitor and entrepreneur who describes himself as a ‘little guy lawyer’. He attributes his human rights leanings to his proud Persian heritage, a dislike of bullies and a genuine belief that one person can make a difference. Leaving a successful career in finance in order to pursue law, he was admitted to tyhe NSW Bar Assiciation at the age of 25. Subsequently, he established and became a partner at the firm of Executive Legal where he heads up the serious crime and mental health practice. Jahan appears on behalf of people kept in mental health facilities involuntarily, refugees seeking asylum and individuals accused of heinous crimes.

Victor Oh

Victor has been teaching at the School of Law, IMC since 2017. He has taught Public Law, Constitutional Law, Anti-Discrimination Law and Public International Law. As a solicitor, Victor specialises in commercial and litigation practice mainly for SMEs. As part of the corporate and commercial law specialisation, his LLM thesis centred on the South Korean government’s policy on the development of chaebols, family-run business conglomerates.

Jonathan Temporal

Jonathan teaches Property Law, Ethics and Professional Responsibility and elective units at the Sydney City School of Law. He has worked as a lawyer in the Philippines in private practice and as a senior law clerk in the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Jonathan was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW in August 2015. He has worked in Mortgage and Banking law as a Senior Associate. He currently runs his own legal practice in contract and migration law.

Dr Dalma R Demeter

Lecturer

Dr Dalma R Demeter is an educator, researcher, an independent arbitrator, consultant, and executive with a truly international background. She has degrees from European and New York accredited institutions and she teaches and practices law in Europe and Australia. As an educator, Dalma is the winner of a number of teaching awards, possessing the ability to adjust the training to her audience. She focuses on teaching professional skills and practical application together with theory in dispute resolution and international commercial law.

Bernadette Favis

Lecturer

Bernadette Favis has over 10 years experience as a lawyer and 15 years as a governance and compliance professional. Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Commerce (major in Accounting) and Juris Doctor (specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law) from Bond University. Bernadette has practised as In-House Counsel and Head of Compliance for private and publicly listed entities in the financial services sector and State Government. Bernadette is a Board Member for a not-for-profit entity and a health food company, which she lends her legal and governance expertise to.
