PROGRAM OVERVIEW
As a specialisation of the Master of Business Administration, the MBA (Professional Accounting) combines management studies with a sequence of accounting and related units that meet the requirements for provisional membership of Chartered Accountants ANZ and associate membership of CPA Australia.
Besides studies in strategy, organisational behaviour, marketing, leadership and ethics, students will acquire competencies in accounting, finance, auditing, taxation, business law and information systems. The MBA (Professional Accounting) is at the cutting edge with analytics, big data, artificial intelligence and technology embedded across the curriculum.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available and will be assessed in accordance with IMC’s RPL policy and procedure. Please refer to the Application for Recognition of Prior Learning and the RPL policy and procedure for further details.
Assessment methods are designed to encourage learning, provide feedback and measure achievement of unit learning outcomes. Forms of assessment vary among units and include research reports, projects, essays, group work, presentations, problem solving and case studies as well as tests, quizzes and examinations. Students may be required to complete assessment tasks alone or in groups to encourage development of generic skills. Assessments generally require a written submission but may include an oral presentation. In capstone units, assessments may include industry engagement and an extensive report.
The MBA (Professional Accounting) prepares graduates for senior and middle management positions in business (sales, marketing, finance, accounting, general management, operations), government, non-profit and non-governmental organisations. Careers include general management, marketing, entrepreneurship and start-ups, consulting and operations.
Alternatively, graduates are eligible to enrol in the professional qualifying programs of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants ANZ which can lead to a career as a qualified accountant in industry or professional practice.
