Library services in Sydney
How can I borrow books?
– Step 1: To borrow books from IMC’s library, you will need your IMC student card.
– Step 2: You will need to come to IMC in person to pick up the book you would like to borrow. Use the Library Kiosks to check-out the books (watch the video here).
What is the loan period for borrowed items?
– Two weeks for undergraduates, three weeks for postgraduates
What’s the maximum number of items I can borrow?
– You can only borrow three items at a time
Where can I find core texts?
– Using the library catalog, search for the title and author of the book to get the call number. Once found, locate the book on the shelves (arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification).
What does the book with the “Reference” tag mean?
– It means the book can be used in the Library only and cannot be checked out.
Can I place a book on hold?
– Yes, you can place a book on hold by logging in to the your library account using this link. To login, use your Microsoft email address. You may also send reservation requests via email at library@imc.edu.au.
How can I receive the book I reserved?
– After receiving confirmation that the book you reserved is ready for collection, you may collect the book at Bay 3. The book you reserved will be set aside for you to collect from the Reservation Shelf (inside the Library).
What happens if I can’t find the book I want from IMC’s library? ➕
– Reach out to our Librarian at library@imc.edu.au
– Sometimes the book has not been returned by the student, has been misplaced on the shelf or being processed and repaired.
Can I renew my item/s?
– Items can be renewed (if no book reservation has been placed on the same book) by using the Library Kiosks or sending an email at library@imc.edu.au.
– You can only renew the book twice, then the book/s need to be returned to the Library.
– If you fail to return the books to the library after the due date, fines will apply.
Where do I return books?
– Books can be returned using the Library Kiosks (watch the video here), placed in the Return Shelf (in front of Room 11) or placed at the Librarian’s desk. Please do not return books to the shelf.
How much is the fine for overdue items?
– $1 per day

OUTDOOR SPACES
Students are also encouraged to use the South Eveleigh gardens, spaces and outdoor facilities like the Vice chancellor’s Oval and other group seating areas such as the Innovation Plaza and Village Square.
Computers
Students have access to a computers with fast speed internet access and appropriate software.
Various workshops are offered that guide students to help build up their academic skills. These workshops that run for 30 minutes each can be booked here:

The Sydney Campus Library has the most up-to-date, relevant and essential Online Databases. Access to these databases enables students to retrieve scholarly information that will strengthen their research output. Follow the links and when prompted, use your Microsoft email details to login.
- ABI/INFORM – Access the collection of thousands of full-text journals and dissertations, working papers, key business and economic periodicals. Watch the video here.
