The contents of this unit will examine the contemporary and emerging global issues faced by the management of all kinds of organisations in the process of value creation for their stakeholders, and to explore how these issues are advancing the development of professional skills, values, ethics and attitudes of a future accountant acting as a strategic business advisor, partner and innovator.
The major topics will cover the drivers of change in the accounting profession requiring future accounting skills, emerging technologies affecting the work of an accountant such as big data; business analytics; blockchain; business process automation and artificial intelligence, innovative and disruptive business models and financing, contemporary human capital and workforce management, sustainable natural resource management, stakeholder engagement; management and communication, and business reputation management.
