This unit exposes students to the fundamental principles of cryptography and information security with particular reference to the application of blockchain technology in business. Cryptography has a long history, which will be touched upon. Modern cryptography in the digital environment is integral to the security of data and transactions in blockchain applications. To understand blockchain, students require a working knowledge of cryptographic principles and processes. Furthermore, in this unit, students will learn how to protect sensitive information and manage risks in the event of cyber-attacks on a business entity. |
