We are excited to announce Professor Michael Adams as our new Adjunct Professor in Organisational Quality and Stakeholder Relations. With extensive experience in education, he has made significant contributions to academic governance, curriculum development, and the enhancement of student success.
Professor Adams is dedicated to teaching excellence and has led major curriculum reviews, refining programs to better align with student needs. He has been instrumental in developing blended learning models that effectively integrate in-person interaction with modern teaching strategies. His leadership in interdisciplinary education, particularly in legal studies, has been pivotal in shaping combined law degrees and strengthening connections between legal and business disciplines.
In addition to curriculum design, Professor Adams advocates for student support by creating first-year programmes and interventions for at-risk students that establish benchmarks for success. He has also actively participated in academic governance, upholding high standards throughout. Furthermore, his experience in incorporating technological tools into teaching enhances learning effectiveness across various disciplines.
His contributions to legal education, both in Australia and globally, have bolstered research, governance, and the professional development of future lawyers and educators. In December 2000, Professor Adams was awarded the Australian University Teaching Award for Law and Legal Studies from the Commonwealth Government and in 2020 won the 20th Australian Law Awards for ‘Academic of the Year’ presented by Lawyers Weekly.
IMC is thrilled to have Professor Adams join our team, and we are confident that his insights and expertise will be vital in advancing our commitment to excellence in higher education. Professor Adams will work part-time for two days each week, commencing on 2 June, with his email address as m.adams@imc.edu.au.
