TCYS204 Advanced Data and Analytics Programming TCYS204 Advanced Data and Analytics Programming Campus: South Eveleigh, NSW 2015 Units of Credit: 6 Prerequisite or Corequisite: TTEC101 Data Analytics Fundamentals or TCYS102 Application Programming and TCYS105 Applied Statistics EFTSL*: 0.125 Indicative Contact Hours per Week: 4 Tuition Fee See Tuition Fee Schedule Application Date: See Key Dates Unit Overview: This unit provides an opportunity for students to apply advanced programming skills in the programming of specific data treatment tools and to differentiate between data-oriented systems and data programming approaches. It allows students to manage an implementation cycle for creating a pipeline to analyse datasets and to compose programming code to achieve required data outputs that aid decision-making for a specific business case.. The unit also provides an opportunity for students to examine large, complex data sets and to apply advanced programming techniques to analyse data and make sense of its content. This will also allow them to validate the properties of different technologies and tools that can be used to program large data sets and to communicate the findings. The unit will also cover data programming approaches, methods and tools, data-oriented systems, preparing data for analysis and the use of Python for data programming. It will examine data implementation cycles, objects, expressions, numerical types, different data structures, variables and branching programs. Functions, scoping and abstractions as well as structured types of mutability and recursion will be covered in this unit. *EFTSL = Equivalent full-time study load
