TCAP602 Digitalised Services in Auditing and Assurance Practice (Capstone)

This unit provides students with an opportunity to explore the practical applications of digitalisation in an auditing and assurance context. It introduces the concepts of automation tools to produce a digitised output for an assurance activity as well as explore the audit inputs and digitalised outputs gained from using digitalisation and visualisation tools. The unit evaluates robotic process automation and its business case. It examines auditing applications of a robotics process automation, automated reporting and standardising data. Stakeholder feedback in the digitalisation process is also explored as are the concepts of machine learning and artificial intelligence from an auditing point of view. Specialist software applications Tableau and Alteryx will also be evaluated and used as part of this unit.
