It provides a broad overview of the financial system, and types of financial markets, instruments and institutions. Basic concepts and tools of financial analysis are presented: time value of money, discounting, financial performance analysis, basics of stock and bond valuation, and an introduction to investments. This unit is designed to provide students with the tools and insights from academic finance they need to make well informed financial and investing decisions.
